HDTV Camcorder (2/3" 2.5 Megapixel CMOS 1920x1080 Full HD Active Pixel Sensor, B4) Avid DNxHD Codec. 1080/50i, 1080/50i, 1080/25psF, 1080/24p, 720/60p, 720/50p, all as native format, recorded in full resolution and outstanding quality on the FieldPak2 removable media with the Avid DNxHD codec in MXF file format.

AVID DNxHD Codec:

The codec offers selectable bit depths and data rates that most closely match those of the source media. Users can choose 8 or 10-bit sampling at 145M and 220M bit rates. The HDN-X10 supports 145 Mbps rate AVID DNxHD

No digitizing before editing:

Audio and video data recorded on a FilePak2 can be directly accessed and edited from an AVID non linear editing system, such as DS Nitris, Media Composer Adrenaline HD, News Cutter Adrenaline HD, and XpressPRO HD, without digitizing or moving files.

Open data interchange:

DNxHD media files are always accessible - with or without Avid equipment or software. Avid has created a QuickTime codec for Avid DNxHD that can be downloaded free of charge, for Mac OSX and Windows XP. With this codec, DNxHD media can be used seamlessly in QuickTime compliant applications such as Adobe After Effects or Apple Final Cut Pro. The Avid DNxHD codec allows additional flexibility on systems without having the Avid editing software installed to fit any type of workflow needed.

Extended Functions:

Retro Loop, Time Lapse Recording, Intelligent Recording are innovative functions, first time offered to the users of Editcam SD. EditcamHD further provides a host of functions, such as build in down converter for monitoring, Unislot for wireless audio receiver, HD-SDI-Output, optical transmission adapter FE-100A and various system accessories.

rts truck With the world’s first 3D outside broadcast vehicle, the British service provider Telegenic is inaugurating a new era in broadcasting: the truck, which was built by Sony Professional Europe, has been in service since the end of March. The 3D OB truck is the fruit of comprehensive testing, meticulous planning and some eighteen months of construction – and the response, too, to increasing demand from the film and TV industries for three-dimensional images. In its first few weeks of service, the new Telegenic truck has been offering subscribers to Sky’s pay TV channels live transmissions – mainly of football matches – in 3D quality. In addition to high-profile sporting events, however, the new flagship of Sky’s fleet of outside broadcast vehicles is scheduled shortly to branch out into the field of entertainment.
